3 Weeks

I have been in Göteborg for 3 weeks now and I'm loving it. The weather has been so nice most of the time. Blue, blue skies and sunshine.
I noticed for the first time on Sunday that it was cold, not just a chill in the air. Then on Tuesday morning Per had to scrap a very thin layer of ice off the car before he and the boys left, and I could smell Autum in the air:)
I have been cycling nearly everyday since I got here, I collect the boys from school on my bike and they sit in a wagon at the back of the bike. I am slowly getting used to it, and know that it is good for me and saving money on bus fares.
Because of this I have had two major changes in my life, the first being, I am so hot all the time! For most people who know me I am usually cold all the time, so I'm not used to it! But the other major change is that I'm drinking water by the gallons! Well pints, but it's a start! Both good changes that I am adapting to quite well.
I'm thinking that I should go to the tourist information centre tomorrow and get all the information I can and start exploring the city - be a real tourist! That way when people come to visit I can show them round. It will also give me something to write about:)
So, until next time!

Sweden

So I am back in Sweden, working as a nanny for Pernila and Per and their 2 boys, Viggo 5yrs and Melker 3 yrs.
Pernila took me on a bike tour of Göteborg yesterday, the city centre is really close, so I should get to know it really well.
We have come to the summer house for the weekend, which is on an Island called Gullholmen. It used to be a fishing village, but now it is more for hoilday homes.
As the summer season is now over, it is a lovely peaceful place and very quaint with all the old houses. But it is a very busy in the summer with people and boats coming back and forth all the time.
The shop is under new management this year, and has been closed down for the winter season, which is a bit inconvient, it means having to be more organised and bringing food with you.
Per parents live on the Island most of the time, so they have to get the ferry and then bus to the shops now!
I had a tour of the Island this morning and the weather was lovely and sunny.
It has clouded over now, so we are back at the house, but will probably take another walk later.
So far so good :)

Happy New Year!

So I know it's a few days late, but as you can see, it's been almost a year since my last entry and I'm pretty sure that nobody ready this anyway, so it doesn't really matter! lol
I wish everyone the best for the coming year and hope that it is a happy and successful one for you all.
I am hoping that 2010 will be a year of change for me. There are a few things that I need to work on to become a better person and help those around me more. I would also like to get a new job, and I wouldn't mind moving either. I'm getting itchy feet and I think a big change will be good for me. To meet new people and see new things and places, I'm excited at the thought of it, but now I just have to put a bit of work into making those changes, so watch this space............

Spring?

At the begining of the week I thought spring had arrived. I woke to hear the birds singing every morning and the sun has been shining, with lovely clear blue skies. I could smell spring in the air, and the excitement of a new season.
Imagine then, my suprise when I woke yesturday morning to snow! It was white everywhere, and so beautiful, but also unexpected.
We had our first snowed in Poole for about 15 years, a couple of weeks ago. It lasted for a whole week and it was so exciting. There were some children who had never seen snow before, enjoying every moment.
And then again yesturday, but by midday it had all melted away and the sun was back out!

Orphans in Uganda

On Saturday we had our stake enrichment day and we had a sewing day, making dresses and shorts for orphans in Uganda. We had so much fun!
There were between 60 - 70 of us working through out the day. We had tables, sewing machines and iron's set up. We had a different table for each stage of the clothes making, cutting out, sewing, finishing/accessorising and quality control. We made over 250 items of clothing!
Bex Okotel runs the Child of Hope orphanage/nursery school in Namatala, Uganda. She happened to be in the country so popped in to see what we were doing. She said that she was over whelmed with everything that we had done. She told us a bit about life in Uganda and the kind of children that they help. It made it all a bit more real and worth while!
All in all it was a tiring, but enjoyable day!
(I tried to add some photos, but it didn't work! lol)

Still new at this!

So when I said I was new at this I really meant it! lol
I have a few excuses as to why I haven't written anything new for a while

1. I have been really busy with "stuff"
2. I don't really think of my life as being that exciting and
3. I'm not sure if there are that many people who will really be interested in my life and what I'm up to, but I supose time will tell!
So when I remember, or if anything exciting does happen, I'll continue to write!

New at this!

I thought I'd give this a go! You'll have to give me a chance to get used to it, and hopefully it will be worth it! lol
